Tuin op die Brak is a botanically correct fynbos park. there are plants from the Hessequa environment. Including more than 240 species of fynbos. 13 of these are on the Red Data List for highly endangered species. One can also view 33 species of calcareous limestone of fynbos that are endemic to this region. . These plants will have played an important role in the survival of humans at a time of drastic climate changes over the centuries.

The project is driven by a non-profit organization staffed by volunteers on behalf of the Hessequa municipality.
