Oudepost nature reserve/Duckitt nursery
Oudepost Wildflower Reserve is a seasonal wildflower private nature reserve on the Oudepost Farm, also home to the Duckitt Nurseries. The endangered Swartland Granite Renosterveld and season vleiland is home to a great diversity of flowering plants including the endangered and endemic Geissorhiza radians (Kelkiewyn sysie) and near threatened Dispersis cucullata (Witch Orchid). The reserve is home to many bird species and is great for a birdwatching adventure.
The Orchid Nursery on the opposite side of the reserve is open to the public on the 1st Saturday of the month from May to November. We produce Cymbidium cut-flowers and pot-plants, Cattleya and various other orchid pot plants. There is a small restaurant at the nursery
