Museum in Riversdale

The Ukrainian museum opened in Riversdale in 2004. Here you can see some traditional clothing and cultural artifacts.  Inside the museum, there is a beautiful mural of the famous castle in Crimea Swallow’s Nest (Lastivyine Gnizdo) made by late local artist Compion Saayman after his trip to Ukraine. Also exhibited is a stone of love that was presented by the mayor of Vosnesensk to the museum. In March 2015, a mural depicting children from South Africa and Ukraine as well as their hometown landscapes was created on one of the walls of the Museum.

The  Museum is open by appointment there is no entrance fee but donations are welcomed. It is located within the Ha Qua Youth Centre
