History of Century City

Development began in this suburb in 1997. 250 hectares were set aside for a mixed-use. Construction began in 1997, and the development quickly became known for its unique architectural style and design. One of its central features is the Canal Walk shopping centre, which opened in 2000 and is one of the largest shopping malls in Africa.
