Elands Bay is a town on the Atlantic Ocean. It is famous for caves with some great examples of rock paintings some dating back 10 000 years.
The Bobbejaan mountain cliffs form a large rock shelter that is adorned by primitive San paintings. The  Cave has been declared as a provincial heritage site. The coastline is an important bird sanctuary and the wetland there Verlorenvlei is a Ramsar wetland.
Close by is the hamlet Verlorenvlei, where there are remnants of farm buildings dating back to the beginning of the 18th century. There is an old horse-operated flour mill. Also some langhuisies in the traditional cape cottage style with bo-en-onder doors, dung floors, stone stoeps and windows with solid shutters and end gables with projecting chimney stacks.

- Elands Bay is a surfer’s paradise, there is a variety of uncrowded waves to suit every level of surfer. Sometimes called the Jeffrey’s Bay of the West Coast, It is best surfed on a mid-tide that offers a peeling left-hand point break that breaks onto a reef.
