This beautiful village is on the shore near Gansbaai. The beach stretches all the way from Kleinbaai to the main beach at Gansbaai at the outlet of the Uilenkraalsmond estuary. It was named after Frans who was a shepherd working for Piet van de Byl, a landowner in the area during the 1930s.
