Lansdowne is a suburb of Cape Town which is adjacent to Rondebosch East, Crawford, Wetton, Claremont, Kenwyn and Athlone. It is served by the Cape Flats railway line. During the apartheid era it was a lower-middle-class whites-only suburb. Since 1994 people of different skin tones and cultures have made this their home There are churches, mosques and other cultural and sporting hubs in the area. A segment of Lansdowne Road has been renamed Imam Haron Road.
