The South African Maritime museum
An overview of shipping in Greenpoint
The South African Maritime Museum tells the story of shipping in Cape Town. This includes the earliest existing model of Table Bay harbour which was completed in 1885 by prisoners and warders of Breakwater Prison. It also features floating exhibits of the SAS Somerset (the world’s last surviving boom defense ship) and the Alwyn Vincent (a steam tug)
