Alto Wine Estate is a leading red wine producer, with a century-old heritage. The name Alto is derived from the Latin word ‘Altus’ meaning high. The estate is nestled high up the Helderberg Mountains. Alto is a farm with a rich history, befitting its status as one of the iconic estates of the Western Cape Winelands. The first title deeds date back to 1693, but it was only in 1919 that the farm was given over entirely to vineyards.
Our restaurant is the newest addition to our estate. Savour hearty cuisine made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients while enjoying our award-winning wines.
