Beck House museum

Museum in Worcester

There is a typical Cape Dutch Style house, built in Worcester in 1841, which is now a monument. The Beck House museum is in this building. Originally the House belonged to an important citizen of Worcester named Cornelius Beck. The museum shows what his life and town life were like in Worcester back in those times.

Take a walk through the house and discover old furnishings such as antique stinkwood and yellowwood furniture. This monument is also home to the oldest herb garden in South Africa as well as the original bath house.

It is also known as the Stofberg House and it contains the original doctor and dentist consulting rooms.  Also, visit the Cape cart in the Old Coach House. There is a coffee shop and gift emporium on the premises.
