BLUE ROCK in the Helderberg Mountains, close to Sir Lowry’s Pass, Lake Blue Rock is the only lake in Cape Town with crystal clear water and a depth of 60 metres. It is ideal for commercial and scuba diving. In summer, the water temperature reaches up to 26°C.
The Cable (the over-head pulling system) is made for kneeboarding, waterskiing and wakeboarding but surfing on a door or barefoot skiing has been seen before too! You can bring your own equipment and there is also equipment to hire. The only requirement is that you are able to swim. It is also a popular destination for kiteboarders on a windless day. For advanced riders, Blue Rock is one of the biggest obstacle parks in the world. For beginners, there are skilled instructors for assistance.
