Coetzenberg Stadium

Coetzenburg Stadium is a multi-sports venue with a full A-grade athletics track. It is on a portion of the old Coetsenburg Estate which was founded by Dirk Coetsee in 1682 and owned by Stellenbosch University. The stadium is used by both Stellenbosch F.C. and Stellenbosch University. The Coetzenburg is the first Athletics Stadium in South Africa to feature the new state-of-the-art lighting system, which was part of its recent upgrade.The spectator stands accommodate 2900 people and 2100 people can be accommodated on the the embankment. The facility includes nine hockey fields, six cricket fields, nine squash courts, two heated pools, one swimming pool, eight netball courts, fifteen rugby fields with a 17,000-seat stadium and twenty-seven tennis courts. The stadium is wheelchair accessible.
