water sportsDe Bakke Beach is small and relatively quiet. It is one of the Blue Flag beaches and a special attraction for Mossel Bay. De Bakke is an ideal swimming beach that is safe for families with children. It is also a great water sports beach. Surfing and canoeing are popular here, and the two reefs that flank the beach offer great snorkeling opportunities. These reefs also make for good fishing. The views of the Indian Ocean create a perfect backdrop. From July to December, visitors can spot whales as they visit the shoreline
There is a campsite close by with ablutions and there are good places to have picnics.
