DHL Newlands stadium
The DHL Newlands Stadium is the oldest stadium in the country and the second-oldest rugby stadium in the world. The Western Province Football Union and Rugby Union bought the land in 1888. , The first official match took place at the Newlands Stadium on the 31st of May 1890 in front of a crowd of around 2 400. Here The Villagers were defeated by Stellenbosch with a crowd of just A year later the Newlands Stadium hosted the first international rugby test during the tour of the British Lions.

By 1919 concrete stands had been built. The stadium underwent several changes and improvements into the 1970s when it became the headquarters of the South African Rugby Federation. Several of the stands were renovated and some were added. By the 1980s another 10,253 were added. Newlands Stadium currently has a capacity of 51 900, including some standing space.
