Doringbaai Beach is a little bay just south of Strandfontein is famous for its lighthouse and the crayfish factory which employs many of the local people. Doringbaai is a wonderful area to experience nature, particularly birdwatchers enjoy the area. The beach is not very crowded. It has clean white sand with rocky outcrops and pools full of small marine life.
Doringbaai used to be an anchor for boats that were used for trade. Goods would be stored at Doringbaai, then, transported to Vanrhynsdorp by camel.
