Durbanville Rose Garden
Spectacular show in rose season
The Durbanville Rose Garden was established in 1979. It is an iconic tourist attraction in the area. The garden is one of only 3 in the Southern Hemisphere. It is 3.5 hectares and is open to the public every day. Visitors are invited to walk along the garden trails and enjoy the beautiful roses and fragrances all around.
The garden is currently maintained by the Durbanville Municipality along with volunteers from “Friends of The Rose Garden”. The ground is part of the old Eversdal Estate and it was originally donated by the Schabort family.
Cream teas are served in the clubhouse on Sundays from October to May and small quiet functions are permitted provided no alcohol is served and no amplified music is played.
With its 4 500 rose bushes, flourishing during the summer months, it puts on one of nature’s most incredible annual floral extravaganzas.
