Walk in the Knysna forest

On the outskirts of Knysna,  is a perfect place to explore the Tsitsikamma forest. This area is Part of the Harkerville Forest. Take a relaxed stroll that follows over 1km of wooden boardwalks and bridges across streams. These are arranged in two 500 m loops that were built in 1926. The boardwalks are wheelchair friendly. There are a number of wooden benches and tables, water and ablution facilities along the trail.

The forest is an example of Wet Highforest vegetation. This is an unusual type with many examples of tall stinkwood, kalander, wit-els  and other similar tree species.
