Gardens at the Hohenort
The Hohenort gardens are on nine acres on the slopes of Table Mountain in the Constantia Valley. Trees in the surrounding forest date back 300 years to when the Hohenort was known as Klaasenbosch Farm. The rose garden has over 2500 rose bushes and six tons of compost are used each year. There are Herb, Vegetable, and Citrus Tree Gardens, a Picnic Garden, and then the Hohenort Lawns. The beautifully maintained gardens display much of Constantia’s most beautiful indigenous flora. The garden is spectacular all through the year, with different blooms revealing themselves across the seasons. A limited number of picnics are available daily between 11.00 and 18.00 from 1 September to 31 May. These need to be booked in advance.
Tours are conducted, phone to check availability..The Garden Tour is available on a Wednesday only at 10:30 am
