Kammabaai beach
Kammabaai beach is next to Voelklip beach Hermanus. Locals know it as nannies beach It has huge rocky outcrops. There are two sections to the beach, divided by a rocky outcrop filled with rock pools and interesting marine life. The size of the beach is largely affected by the tide, and at high tide, there is not much beach left. The beach is popular with surfers and bodyboarders. There are nice hollow sections, so it’s perfect for anyone still in the learning stages of surfing. On bigger-wave days, intermediate surfers will also find Kammabaai an ideal spot. Be wary of strong rip currents.
It is easily accessible and good for families because of the rock pools and spots with shallow water, safe swimming, and no big waves. There is a large parking area. Also, braai and picnic facilities on the outer fringe of the milkwood trees The Kammabaai Beach is linked to Voëlklip Beach and Grotto Beach by a cliff path that winds through the surrounding mountains. Further in, the waves are great for regular surfing and kite surfing. During holiday season it tends to be popular so it is best to arrive early.
Kammabaai Beach has great facilities and lifeguards are on duty during the busy summer months
