Keurboomstrand main beach
Keurboomstrand main beach is near Plettenberg Bay on the warmer Indian Ocean, it is a wide stretch of golden sand. The views of the mountains beyond are thick with trees. They are quite magnificent. The area derives its name from the Keurboom Tree, which blooms with pinkish-mauve flowers in August and September and then again in December.
Towards the end of the beach are the Keurbooms and Bitou Rivers which join together and create a lagoon with its own island inside. This is a great spot for fishing, boating, canoeing, and skiing.
A walk on the beach gets you a view of the Robberg Peninsula and nature preserve which marks the end of Plettenberg Bay. This vast crescent of sand is a great spot to visit and the views across the bay are impressive. The Keurboomstrand main beach has blue flag status.
