Groot Schuur Hospital Ghosts
Groote Schuur is one of Cape Town’s premier tertiary academic hospitals. It was officially opened in 1938. The hospital is internationally renowned as the training ground for some of South Africa’s best doctors, surgeons, and nurses.
Groot Schuur Hospital is home to many ghosts as you would imagine an old hospital would be. There are several restless souls resident in the building.
Patients tell of being nursed by women nobody has ever heard of, there is a particular sister who has been seen quite often who is described as having white eyes, she is apparently a nurse who committed suicide on the grounds.
A sister Fatima tries to help staff by handing drinks to patients from unattended trolleys. The tortured soul of a patient who fell to his death while attempting an escape is also said to roam the hallways of the hospital.
