Murludi Trails,
In the Witzenberg Mountains is the Murludi Hiking Trail. It offers spectacular views of the Tulbagh valley and diverse plant life. There is 10km of safe, well-maintained hiking trails (ranging from 2 hours to a day hike).
The Hiking Trail offers two routes, Elsbos Route (10km) and River Route (4km).
A shorter route follows around the orchards and the irrigation dam. Here you will see how a working farm operates. A longer route passes at the foot of the lower hills of the Witzenberg Mountains. Here you will see beautiful mountain fynbos and some of the finest views in the valley.
You need to have a permit. No hiking will be allowed unless an official permit can be presented. Permits can be obtained from the Tulbagh Tourism office (023 230 1348) Dogs are not allowed on this hike or on Murludi Farm.
