Kenilworth Racecourse Conservation Area offers guided walks, events, and various KRCA activities and environmental education programmes.
This 52-hectare area lies in the centre of the Kenilworth Racecourse. The area was opened as a racecourse in 1882 and, due to the nature of the land use, it allowed for the conservation of the area within the track. The area was established as a conservatory in 1985. Recently the conservation area and seasonal wetland were identified as “irreplaceable” on the Cape Town Biodiversity Network. Many indigenous species of Cape sand fynbos fauna and flora can be found here.
