Safe calm swimmig area above Noordhoek

The Silvermine Reservoir is within the Table Mountain National Park.(Silvermine nature reserve) This large reservoir is open to everybody but, swimming is at your own risk. The water is a bit warmer than the sea It is a great place for swimmers to train, The boardwalk winds one kilometre around the dam which is pram and wheelchair ready  It is a perfect picnic area. Dogs need a permit which can be obtained from  the Tokai Plantation Office at 021 712 7471

Silvermine Dam has great picnic and braai spots with excellent views of the fynbos-covered mountains., but please note that no braaiing is permitted during the high fire risk season (summer and early autumn
