Silverstroom is named after the ‘silver stream’ to the north of this resort. It rises from a spring at the edge of the Atlantis Dunes. It supplies water to the town from the underground aquifer.
The beach just north of Melkbosstrand has Blue Flag status. It has excellent water quality with an expansive stretch of coastline.
The rocky point, Wintersteen provides protection from the swell, which makes for safe swimming here. The tidal pool is also a warmer place to swim.
