St James beach itself is quite a small short stretch of white sand with a rocky shoreline. But it is best known for its colourful Victorian-style beach huts. There is also a large, protected tidal pool which makes it particularly popular with families. St James beach is safe for, younger children as there are also a number of rock pools to explore and many shells to collect.
