Steenbras Nature Reserve
The Steenbras Nature Reserve is part of the greater Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve. There are more than 1,600 plant species with the greatest floral diversity per unit area than anywhere else in the world. In the area are five different vegetation types and it is regarded as one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots.
The reserve conserves several vegetation types including the critically endangered Kogelberg sandstone fynbos. The unique landscape with its floral diversity encourages birds and animals. The Steenbras River Gorge also forms part of the Nature Reserve.
Activities here include trail hiking, abseiling, kloof jumping, and swimming. Enjoy some of the best hiking trails, including the Danie Miller hiking trail, The Klipspringer trail, and the Crystal Pool Hiking Trail
