Swartvlei Lake is the largest and deepest in the Wilderness National Park. It is connected to the sea for 6 months of the year.
Boating on the Swartvlei is a popular activity here. All kinds of boats such as paddle boats, rubber ducks, sailing boats, catamarans, motorboats, and canoes are allowed on the water, but you will need a permit. Please ensure all boat crew and passengers have life jackets.
Guided cruises around Swartvlei Lake are run by Captain Saney aboard the “Loose Goose” It leaves at regular intervals from Pine Lake Marina every day. Birding enthusiasts will have plenty of opportunities to see water birds.
