The Lisboa was a Portuguese twin-screw steel steamship that was built in Glasgow in 1910. It weighed 7459 tons. She was owned and operated by the Portuguese Empreza Nacional de Navegacao and was one of their mail ships commanded by Captain Menezes. When she was wrecked she was the largest vessel in the Portuguese merchant fleet.
She was en route to Cape Town and on to Maputo with a cargo that included bulls and olive oil, She left Lobito, in Angola. There were 250 passengers and 50 crew on board. On 23 October 1910, she ran aground on Soldiers Reef near Paternoster.
