MFV Oratava was a fishing trawler that was at sea From 1958 to 1983. It was fifty meters long and 9 meters wide. In 1983, after years of deterioration, the vessel was donated to the False Bay Conservation Society. It was scuttled in Smitswinkel Bay in 1983. She lies alongside the SAS Transvaal, and within a few hundred metres of the SAS Good Hope, the MV Rockeater, and the MFV Princess Elizabeth. The wreck is in fairly good condition and lies on the sandy seabed at 34 meters. The highest point, the funnel, is a little more than 22 meters down.
