The wreck of the SAS Good Hope

The SAS Good Hope was The fourth South African commonwealth ship to bear that name. She was a Fast Frigate, that was launched on July 5th, 1944 She was almost 94 meters long, and just about twelve meters across.

 This ship saw plenty of action.  She carried troops to Iceland, performed ceremonial duties, and conducted training and transport missions. She was scuttled by explosives in 1978

The wreck of the Good Hope lies ten metres from the wreck of Princess Elizabeth in the Smitswinkel Bay area. She is standing upright but she is corroding fast.
