Two Rivers Urban Park
Public park and conservation area in Rondebosch
The Two Rivers Urban Park at the confluence of the Liesbeek and the Black River is a 240-hectare public space and is one of the largest green lungs of the city.
Within the park are some sensitive ecosystems and habitats and there is a conservation area of 40 hectares where wildlife habitats are protected there are over 300 plant species some of them endangered and many birds and small animals
Within the park are historical buildings, institutions, and open spaces. The park has provincial heritage status.
In the past, the park has been used for grazing cattle, as a military campground, a golf course and a cricket field.
The Rondebosch market is held here once a month.
