Laingsberg Flood Museum

Commemorating the power of nature

On 25 January 1981, the town of Laingsburg was hit by a natural disaster, one of the largest ever to have happened in South Africa. The tragedy and destruction that this caused are recorded in the Laingsburg Flood Museum, The Flood Museum captures the essence of the town and its people, and it shows the effect of this disaster. Memorabilia and artifacts have been collected to help depict the scale of the disaster.
